The painting-Italian Light, sat in the solarium of Reeb Manor, directly beneath the long east window where the morning light slanted in like a question left unanswered. It portrayed a luxuriant zinnia plant, golden and impossibly full, blooming in an ornate Italian vessel painted with lemons and looping vines, its handles curved like serpents ready to strike. The pot sat atop a patterned cloth of warm yellows and soft folds, arranged with the same kind of precision one finds in a carefully staged alibi.
Artist Inspiration
In the solarium's golden hush,
Where morning slips through aged glass,
A zinnia dreams in lemon's blush,
In a bowl of painted past.

Size 16 x 20
Weight 12oz.
Medium Oil Stretched Canvas
